05Fair questions
Is this another overlay?
No. The widget part is optional visitor personalization, scoped so it can't touch your site's own code or styles. The product is the scanner, the fix queue, and the documents — see the Theater Exhibit for why that distinction is the whole point.
Do I need a developer?
For most fixes, no — you approve, we apply through the delivery layer. Fixes that belong in your source get a copy-ready diff your developer (or your agency) applies in minutes.
Can you guarantee I won't be sued?
Nobody honest can. We remove the defects plaintiffs scan for and give you the timestamped good-faith record that changes how that conversation goes. Estimate your exposure on the risk page.
Why are you so much cheaper than a $500/month overlay?
Because you're not paying for a lawsuit-protection fantasy or someone's enterprise sales team. Competitors hide scanners behind sales calls and charge $200+/month just for white-label. Our pricing is on one page, and it buys scans, fixes, and documents — things that exist.
What engine powers the scanner?
The core checks run on axe-core — the engine trusted by Microsoft, Google, and Deque — extended with our own form-first prioritization and the patterns the CloviAble Agent learns across real sites. Findings cite the exact WCAG criterion so your developer (or a court) can verify every claim.
Is the widget enough for compliance?
No — and any vendor who says yes is selling theater. The widget helps real visitors adjust the page to their needs; compliance comes from fixing the code. We're the only widget vendor whose homepage tells you that.
What about the EU?
The European Accessibility Act applies since June 2025 to anyone selling into the EU — WCAG 2.1 AA is the working bar. Your report includes an EAA readiness view.

The legal reality
Roughly 6,000 US lawsuits over website and app accessibility are expected in 2026 — a 20–25% jump in one year. About 80% target e-commerce, most filings concentrate in New York, California, Florida and Illinois, and a quarter of defendants have been sued before. Since June 2025, the European Accessibility Act adds a second front: any business selling digital services into the EU owes WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, wherever it's headquartered. Why overlays became the trap
Most vendors sell a JavaScript overlay: a floating toolbar injected over your page, sold as compliance for as much as $500 a month. But no widget can make a site WCAG compliant — the underlying HTML violations remain, and the DOJ, federal courts, and screen-reader users have all confirmed it. Overlays have been named in demand letters as evidence of inadequate effort, not accepted as a defense, and in January 2025 the FTC fined the largest overlay vendor $1M over its compliance claims. What actually works
Real compliance is unglamorous: find the defects in your code, fix them in priority order, and keep records. Forms come first, because form failures block real customers before they attract lawyers. Human-judgment items (alt text meaning, link purpose, cognitive load) get flagged for a person, never auto-passed.
